Article I

Name and Location of Organization

The name of the Corporation is CH Ministries.  It is a Canadian nonprofit Corporation with the principal offices in Friedensfeld West, Manitoba.  CH Ministries is a non-denominational independent ministry.

Article II

Purpose of Organization

This Corporation is organized for religious, education, and poverty relief.  Our biblical purpose is as follows:

CH Ministries exists to bring praise, honor, and glory to God by expressing our love to Him and to one another in all that we are and do.  We seek to accomplish this objective through a commitment to biblical worship, edification, and evangelization, each of  these being accomplished through the individual exercise of the spiritual gifts entrusted to each believer by God (Matthew 22:37-40; 1 Corinthians 10:31; 1 Thessalonians 1:9; Hebrews 12:28-29; 1 Peter 4:10-11).

Worship

In worship, we individually and corporately submit ourselves to God in spirit and truth, exalting His greatness while acknowledging that we are but stewards of all that He has entrusted to us (Isaiah 57:15; John 4:24; Psalm 96; Philippians 2:11; James 1:17).

Edification

We seek, in complete dependence upon God, to build in love a mature and unified body by means of God's Word through instruction, correction, and encouragement (Ephesians 4:11-16; Colossians 1:28-29; John 21:15-17; 2 Tim 3:16-17).

Evangelism

Bound by the responsibility to make disciples of all nations, we commit ourselves to proclaim the gospel to all who have not yet submitted themselves to the Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:18-20; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4).

Article III

Statement of Faith

The Bible is our guide as believers in Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 5:1, John 12:26, James 1:19-25

The Holy BIBLE

We believe the Bible to be the complete Word of God; that the sixty-six books, as originally written, comprising the Old and New Testaments were verbally inspired by the Spirit of God and were entirely free from error as first written; that the Bible is the final authority in all matters of faith and practice and the true basis of Christian union. (2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21)

The Godhead (Tri-unity)

We believe there is one and only one living and true God. He is eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe they each have precisely the same nature, attributes, and perfections. They are each worthy of precisely the same honor, confidence, and obedience. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19-20; Mark 12:29; 1 Peter 1:2; 1 John 5:7)

GOD

We believe in one God; Creator of all, holy, sovereign, eternal; existing in three equal Persons; the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. (Isa. 45:21; Matt. 28:19)

JESUS CHRIST

We believe that Jesus Christ eternally existed with the Father and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit conceived His incarnation in a miraculous manner. He was born of the virgin Mary as no other man was ever born nor can ever be born. Jesus Christ is both true God and true Man. (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:35; John 1:1-14; 1 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 1:8-9)

We believe that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and as a substitutionary sacrifice. All who believe in Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood. We believe He arose bodily from the dead on the third day in the same body in which He suffered and died. (John 3:16; 1 Corinthians 15:1-5)

We believe in the bodily resurrection of our Lord Who ascended into Heaven and is now seated at the right hand of the Father. He is our High Priest and Divine Advocate with the Father. We believe that, by His finished work on the cross and His unceasing ministry of intercession in Glory, Jesus Christ has procured for every believer eternal redemption, eternal salvation, and everlasting life. (Mark 16:19; John 3:16; Romans 5:8-9; Hebrew 5:9; Hebrew 7:25; Hebrew 8:1; Hebrew 9:11-12 and 1 John 2:1)

We believe in the Blessed Hope, the personal, millennial, tribulation, and imminent return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, which is known as the Rapture of the Church. We also believe in the personal, visible, and glorious return of Christ to the earth with His saints at the end of the Great Tribulation. This phase of His coming is known as the Revelation of Jesus Christ. When He returns to the earth with His saints, we believe that Jesus Christ will establish His millennial Kingdom and will reign for one thousand years. (John 14:3; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52; 1 Thessalonians 1:10; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; Titus 2:13; Revelation 19:11-21; Revelation 20:1-6)

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person, equal with God the Father and God the Son in every way. He was active in the creation of all things. He bears witness to the truth of the Gospel in preaching and testimony. He convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. He regenerates the sinner by the Word of God. He permanently indwells the body of each believer. He seals, enlightens, instructs, guides, teaches, witnesses, sanctifies, and helps every born-again believer. He is the efficient power for godly living, Christian service, and spiritual worship. We believe that the Holy Spirit has and does give spiritual gifts to believers for the glory of God’s name and maturing of His Church. (John 16:7-15; 1 John 5:7, Eph. 4:11-16, 1Cor 13:10-13, Genesis 1:1-3; Matthew 28:19; Mark 1:8; Luke 1:35; Luke 24:49; John 3:5-7; 14:16,17,26; John 16:7-15; Acts 5:30-32; 11:16; Romans 8:14,16,26,27; Romans 15:19; 1 Corinthians 2:10,11; Ephesians 1:13-14; Ephesians 4:30; Hebrews 9:14)

SATAN

We believe that Satan is a personal being, the author of sin, a fallen angel, prince of demons, the unholy god of this age, the great enticer and deceiver, the adversary of Christ and His people, the accuser of the brethren, and the ruler of all the powers of darkness. He is destined to the judgment of an eternal justice in the Lake of Fire. (Isaiah 14:12-15; Ezekiel 28:12-19; Matthew 4:1-11; Matthew 25:41; 2 Corinthians 4:3-4; 1 Peter 5:8; Revelation 12:9-10; Revelation 20:10)

MANKIND

We believe that mankind was divinely created in the image of God; that mankind sinned, becoming guilty before God, resulting in total depravity, thereby incurring physical and spiritual death. (Gen. 1:27, 31; 3:1-6; Isa. 53:6, Eph. 2:1-3)

SALVATION

We believe that salvation is by the sovereign, electing grace of God; that by the appointment of the Father, Christ voluntarily suffered a vicarious, expiatory and propitiatory death; that justification is by faith alone in the all-sufficient sacrifice and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ and that those whom God has effectually called shall be divinely preserved and finally perfected in the image of the Lord. (Eph. 3:8; 1 Peter 1:2; Rom. 3:24; 1 Peter 1:5)

FUTURE THINGS

We believe in the personal, bodily and glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ; in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust; in the eternal blessedness of the redeemed and in the judgment and conscious, eternal punishment of the wicked. (John 14:3; 5:25-29; Matt. 18:8; 2 Cor. 5:10)

THE LOCAL CHURCH

We believe that a church is a company of believers, called out from the world, separated unto the Lord Jesus; voluntarily associated for the ministry of the Word, the mutual edification of its members, the propagation of the faith and the observance of the ordinances. We believe it is a sovereign, independent body, exercising its own divinely awarded gifts, precepts and privileges under the Lordship of Christ, the Great Head of the Church. We believe that its primary, biblical officers are Pastors/Elders and Deacons. (Col. 1:18; 1 Cor. 12:27-28; 1 Cor. 11:2; Eph. 2:19-21; Eph. 5:27)

ORDINANCES

We believe that there are two ordinances for the Church regularly observed in the New Testament: (Acts 2:41, 42)

Baptism, which is by water whereby the believer obeys Christ’s command and declares identification with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection. (Matt. 28:19, 20; Acts 8: 36-38; Rom. 6:4; Col. 2:12)

The Lord’s Supper, which is the memorial wherein the believer partakes in the two elements, the broken bread and the cup, which symbolize the Lord’s body and shed blood, proclaiming His death until He comes. (Matt. 26:26-30; Mark 14:22-25; John 6:51-58; 1 Cor. 11:23-29)

The Creation

We believe in the Genesis account of creation as being neither allegory nor myth, but a literal, historical account of the direct and immediate creative acts of God without any evolutionary process. We believe God brought all creation into being in six days and that He rested on the 7th day. We also believe that God’s Word is a complete and chronological record from creation to the birth of Christ. We further believe that from the time of Christ until now God has continued to provide complete and chronological evidence through the writers of history. Therefore, we believe creation to be approximately 6000 years old. Man, spirit, soul, and body, were created by a direct work of God and not from previously existing forms of life; and that all men are descended from the historical Adam and Eve—the first parents of the human race. (Genesis 1 and 2; John 1:3; Colossians 1:16.)

THE CHURCH AND GOVERNMENT

We believe that civil government is of divine appointment for the interest and good order of society; those authorities are to be prayed for, conscientiously honoured and obeyed; except only in the things opposed to the will of our Lord Jesus Christ.  We believe that God is sovereign over both Church and Government and that the Church is independent and free, under Christ, from the interference or control of government in matters of faith and conscience.

We believe that Christians individually and corporately have a responsibility to pray for issues of moral, ethical and spiritual concern in society, advocating for Biblical principles of faith and conduct as the Lord gives them opportunity. (Romans 13:1-7, 1Timothy 2:1-3, 1Thes 4:11)

Marriage and Family

We believe that the term ‘marriage’ has only one meaning: A life-long covenant, sanctioned by God, that joins one man and one woman, who were each born as a man and a woman, in a single, exclusive union, as spoken and described by God in Scripture. We believe that God’s design for the family starts with marriage. (Genesis 2:18-25; Leviticus 18:1-30; Matthew 19:3-9; Romans 1:26-32; 1 Corinthians 5:1-2; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10; 1 Corinthians 7:10; 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8; Hebrews 13:4)

We further believe the wedding ceremony is an act of worship before God where one man and one woman are joined in holy matrimony.

We believe that God instituted the family for the well-being of mankind and designed it to be a unit of order and blessing. We also believe that the husband is to be the head of the home and, together with his wife, has the responsibility to bring up their children in the caring guidance, counsel, and discipline of the Lord. We believe that God’s design for the family is modeled in the leadership of the church. (Ephesians 5:21-6:4)

Divorce

Divorce has always been defined as the ending of a marriage. God clearly hates divorce (Malachi

2:16). Divorce brings harm to every person involved; therefore, reconciliation or restoration of a

marriage should be encouraged and divorce discouraged.

In recognition of man's sinfulness, God does permit divorce in certain situations, not because He

wills it but because of the hardness of people’s hearts (Deuteronomy 24:1-4; Matthew 19:3-9; 1

Corinthians 7:15). It is only permitted (never commanded) in cases of fornication or

abandonment (1 Corinthians 7:11, 15; Matthew 19:9). Fornication covers a wide variety of

sexual activity including adultery, homosexuality, bestiality, and incest (Matthew 5:32, 19:9; 1

Corinthians 5:1). Abandonment occurs when a non-believing spouse decides to leave the

marriage relationship with a Christian (1 Corinthians 7:12-15).

A special case that is also covered under abandonment is that of persistent physical, sexual or

emotional abuse of a spouse. God has provided protection for an abused spouse through the

church, civil authority, godly counselors, prayer, and other practical measures. Reasonable steps

should be taken to provide for protection of the abused spouse while promoting appropriate

reconciliation and restoration. A period of separation might be considered to encourage the

couple to focus on the issues involved. A separation agreement developed with the assistance of

the pastoral staff could assist the couple in defining the purpose for the separation

and promoting agreement on the length and conditions agreed upon for the separation and

reconciliation. Such separation should not be legally initiated for the purpose of pursuing

divorce but for protecting and promoting reconciliation (1 Corinthians 7:5-6, 10-11). Separation

should not be entered into without considerable prayer and the seeking of godly counsel. Should

such reconciliation efforts fail, the offender could be subject to church discipline. Church

discipline in such case would follow the normal course as outlined in the church’s guidelines.

Thus, it would not be entered into lightly or be completed swiftly. Church discipline would

focus on effecting reconciliation through counseling, accountability, and confrontation to restore

the abusive spouse to an obedient relationship with God and their mate. The final phase of

confrontation would involve the Elders. However, if church discipline follows to conclusion.

To the best of our ability as the body of Christ, we understand these to be the only reasons for

divorce. Therefore, those who pursue divorce on unbiblical grounds (any not specified herein)

should be confronted and counseled as they are subject to church discipline because they are

willfully rejecting God’s Word (Matthew 18:15-18).

While divorce may be the legal termination of a marriage, it is not a permanent end to that

relationship while the other spouse is alive or not remarried. Restoration is preferable to

separation or divorce in all situations, even when there are biblical grounds for divorce (Hosea

2:14-23; Matthew 18:21-22; Luke 17:3-4). The only time restoration should not be sought is in

the event of a remarriage by one or both partners. It would be biblically wrong to break up the

new marriage (Deuteronomy 24:1-4; 1 Corinthians 7:10-11).

Can a divorced individual or couple be allowed to serve in the church, mission field, or outreach event?  Yes. “Scripture teaches us that a divorced couple or individual can serve in the church except in the position of Elder, Deacons, or Pastor according to 1 Timothy 3:1-15.”

No one is with out sin and sin is the same in Gods eyes. John 8:1-11, James 2:10, Romans 3:23, Revelation 21:8

Homosexuality/ Gender change

There are numerous Old Testament scriptures that outrightly condemn homosexuality as a sin. The most well known of these are Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13, where a man lying with a man as with a woman is called an abomination.

Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because the sin of the people had come before God (Genesis 18:20). The most characteristic of these sins was homosexuality. When the angels of the Lord visited Lot’s house, the men of the city demanded that Lot send the men out that they may “know them” (Genesis 19:5). There was a similar incident described in Judges 19 where “men of Belial” demanded to have homosexual relations with a sojourner among the tribe of Benjamin. So severe was this sin that God endorsed the near annihilation of the men of Benjamin.

Gay advocates point to Ezekiel 16:49 which says that the people of Sodom failed to help the poor and needy. So according to them, their sin had nothing to do with homosexuality. This scripture only suggests that the sin of Sodom was manifold. It does not in any way invalidate all of the other scriptures that clearly point to the sexual nature of their sin. In fact the very next verse (Ezekiel 16:50) points out that they also committed “abomination”, and this is why God destroyed them.

The New Testament echoes the Old Testament’s condemnation of homosexuality as a sin. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 outlines examples of unrighteous people that would not inherit the kingdom of God. These include the sexually immoral, idolators, adulterers and homosexuals. 1 Timothy 1:10 also lists homosexuality as unrighteous behavior. Romans 1:26-28 calls homosexuality the product of a debased or reprobate mind. Romans widens the condemnation to lesbianism and not just homosexual acts, but homosexual lusts as well. Jude verse 7 describes the homosexual practices of Sodom and Gomorrah as unnatural.

As born-again believers in Christ, we aught to always love, help, encourage the individual but not to love the behavior and choice of action of sin. 1 john 4:7-8,

The Fall of Man

We believe that man was created innocent, in the image of God, and under His law; Adam fell from his sinless state by voluntary transgression and all men sinned in him. The consequence of that sin causes all men to be totally depraved and partakers of Adam’s fallen nature. We are sinners by nature and by conduct. Therefore, we are under just condemnation without defense or excuse. (Genesis 1:26-27; 3:1-6; 3:24; John 3:1-21; Romans 1:18, 32; Romans 3:10-19; Romans 5:12, 19)

The Atonement for Sin

We believe that the salvation of sinners is divinely initiated and wholly of grace through the intervention of the Son of God. Christ, by the appointment of the Father, freely took upon Himself our nature, yet was without sin. He honored the divine law by His personal obedience, and His substitutionary atonement for our sins. His atonement consisted not in setting us an example by His death as a martyr, but was a voluntary substitution of Himself in the sinner’s place. Christ, the Lord, bore our sin in His own body on the cross—the just dying for the unjust. (Isaiah 53:4-7; John 3:1-21; Acts 4:12; Acts 15:11; Romans 3:10; Romans 3: 23- 25; Romans 6:23; 1 Corinthians 15:3; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Ephesians 2:8-10; Philippians 2:7; Hebrews 2:14; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 John 2:2; 1 John 4:10)

Resurrection and Priesthood

We believe in the bodily resurrection of Christ and in His ascension into Heaven, where He now sits at the right hand of the Father as our High Priest. (Matthew 28:6; Mark 16:6; Luke 24:2-6; Luke 24:39; Luke 24:51; John 20:27; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Corinthians 15:4; 1 Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 2:17; Hebrews 5:9-10; Hebrews 7:25; Hebrews 8:6; Hebrews 12:2; 1 John 2:1)

Grace and the New Creation

We believe, that in order to be saved, sinners must be “born again”. The new birth is a new creation in Christ Jesus. It is instantaneous and not a process. The new birth of the one who was dead in trespasses and sins is made a partaker of the divine nature and receives eternal life, the free gift of God. Our sovereign God brought about our new creation in a manner above our comprehension, solely by the power of the Holy Spirit in connection with divine truth. Evidence of our new creation appears in the holy fruits of repentance, faith, and newness of life. (John 3:3-8; Acts 16:30-32; Romans 6:23; 2 Corinthians 5:17-19; Ephesians 2:1-3; Ephesians 2:8-9; Colossians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:4; 1 John 5:1).

Justification

We believe that justification is the judicial act of God declaring us to be righteous through faith in Christ Jesus. Justification includes the pardon of sin and the imputation of God’s righteousness. It is bestowed solely through the Redeemer’s shed blood and not because of any works we have done. (Isaiah 53:11; Acts 13:39; Romans 3:22-24; Romans 5:1-21; Romans 8:1; Ephesians 2:8-9)

Repentance

We believe that repentance is a change of mind and purpose toward God brought about by the Holy Spirit. Repentance is characterized by godly sorrow for sin which is offensive to God and destructive to the soul. True repentance is inseparably related to true faith causing one to purposely turn away from sin and move instead toward God as an act of faith. (Luke 13:1-3; Luke 15:7; Acts 8:22; Acts 20:21; Romans 2:4; 2 Corinthians 7:10)

Faith and Salvation

We believe that repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is the only way for salvation. (John 3:15; Acts 4:12; 16:31; Romans 10:9-13; Ephesians 2:8-9)

Separation and Sanctification

We believe that sanctification is the divine setting apart of the believer unto God, and that the Scriptures clearly teach non-conformity to the world for every believer. It is clearly commanded of God that all believers should live lives of separation from all worldly and sinful practices and to be holy as He is holy. We believe positional sanctification occurs at the moment of regeneration and practical sanctification is to be progressive throughout the entire life span of the believer. God’s provision for holy living is in the believer’s identification with Christ as Savior, the indwelling Person and power of the Holy Spirit, the believer’s submission to Him, and the powerful Word of God. (John 17:17; Romans 6:1-14; 1 Corinthians 1:30; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20; 2 Corinthians 3:18; 2 Corinthians 6:14-17; 2 Corinthians 7:1; Galatians 5:16-23; Ephesians 2:6; Ephesians 5:25-27; 1 Thessalonians 4:3; 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24; 1 John 3:2; Jude 24-25; Revelation 22:11)

Adoption

We believe adoption means “to be placed as a son”. It is more than just legal standing or even a change of nature. It is to become a part of God’s family, which includes all the rights and privileges of that relationship. Furthermore, God’s name is put upon us. We receive the spirit of adoption and we are enabled to come boldly to the throne of grace and cry ‘Abba, Father’. We are pitied, protected, provided for, and chastened by God as by a Father. He never casts us off, but, as we remain sealed to the day of redemption, we inherit the promises as heirs of everlasting salvation. This is a family that we are not born into—rather, the Father of this family willfully and purposefully brought us in. (Romans 8:14-17; 2 Corinthians 6:18; Galatians 4:4-7; Ephesians 1:5; 1 John 3:1-2)

The Security of the Believer

We believe that all who are truly born again are eternally kept by God the Father for Jesus Christ. Salvation cannot be bought or earned. It is a free gift from God (John 10:28-29; Romans 8:35-39; Philippians 1:6; Jude 1)

 The Church

We believe that the Church, which is the Body of Christ, was begun on the Day of Pentecost. It is composed solely of born-again believers who have been called out from among the Jews and Gentiles. All believers from Pentecost to the Rapture are added to the Church by the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Christ, glorified in Heaven, is the Head of the Church. The Holy Spirit on earth is the active agent of the God-head, who constantly seeks within its ranks to bring about conformity and obedience to the Word of God and the will of God. Being one body unites believers to each other and to Christ. The Church’s purpose of existence is to evangelize the world and complete itself through the winning of lost souls to Christ.

We believe that Christ’s Church is manifested through the local church which is a congregation of believers. The local church is:

fellowship of the gospel

observing the ordinances of Christ

governed by His laws

exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by His Word

under the leadership of officers, who are Elders (one of which is the Pastor) and Deacons, whose qualifications and duties are clearly defined in the Scriptures.

We believe the true mission of the Church is the faithful witnessing of Christ to all men. We hold that the local church has the absolute right of self-government, free from the interference of any hierarchy of individuals or organizations. The one and only Head is Christ through the Holy Spirit. It is scriptural for churches to cooperate with each other in defending the faith and for the furthering of the gospel. Each local church is the sole judge of the measure and method of its cooperation. The will of the local church is final on all matters of membership, policy, procedure, government, discipline, and benevolence. (Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:1-47; Acts 15:13-18; Acts 20:17-28; Romans 1:16; Romans 3:22; 1 Corinthians 11:2; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Galatians 3:28; Ephesians 1:22-23; Ephesians 2:13-16; Ephesians 3:1-6; Ephesians 4:11-13; Ephesians 5:23-24; Colossians 1:18; 1 Timothy 3:1-7)

Missions

We believe that the Church, which is Christ’s body, has been given a mandate by Christ Himself to be God’s missionary society to the entire world. The chief purpose for the existence of the New Testament Church is to evangelize the world and complete itself through the winning of lost souls to Christ. Therefore, we believe the Church and this local church family are obligated to make every effort to evangelize all people everywhere, beginning in our homes, then reaching to our town, province, nation, and the entire world. (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:45-48; Acts 1:8)

Baptism

We believe that Christian baptism is immersion or pouring of a believer in water, under the authority of the local church. It is our conviction that water baptism has no saving merit. After one is saved, water baptism shows our faith and union in Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection to a new life that exalts and glorifies Christ. Believers that are baptized, are to be observed once, and is a sign of identification and a testimony to the believer’s new life in Christ. (Matthew 3:16; Matthew 28:19-20; John 3:23; Acts 2:41; Acts 8:34-39; Romans 6:3-5; Colossians 2:11-12).

The Lord’s Supper

We believe that Jesus Christ instituted the Lord’s Supper to commemorate His death until He comes again. It is to be observed often, not only as a memorial of the body and shed blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, but also as a celebration of His imminent return to take His Church out of this world. It is to be preceded always by solemn self-examination. (Matthew 26:17-29; Acts 2:46; Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 10:16-17; 1 Corinthians 11:23-33)

Angels

We believe in the existence and personality of angels, both holy angels and fallen angels (demons). *******  (Ezekiel 28:13-19; Matthew 25:41; Mark 5:1-20; Luke 2:13; Luke 9:26; Luke 10:18; Luke 15:10)

Israel

We believe in the sovereign selection of Israel as God’s eternal covenant people. She was dispersed because of her disobedience and rejection of Christ. She is being re-gathered in the Holy Land and, after the completion of the Church, will be saved as a nation at the second advent of Christ. (Genesis 13:14-17; Ezekiel 37; Romans 11:1-32)

Prayer

Prayer is an important part of the Believers life. It is a way for us to pour out our hearts to God as His children. We are to pray all the time and not only when we need something. Why Should We Pray – For what do we pray?  Prayer is the key to the heart of God. Prayer is the way to a real and personal relationship with God.  Pray acknowledging He is God, and that you accept His gracious gift, Jesus Christ, as your Lord and Savior (Genesis 17:1, Psalm 32:8, 1 Thessalonians 5:18).  Pray confessing our sins and accepting His forgiveness (Romans 3:23-26, James 5:13-17).  Pray that His will be done in our lives, that His Holy Spirit guide us, and that we be filled with the fullness of all God has for us. (Philippians 4:6-7) Pray for spiritual understanding and wisdom (Proverbs 2:6-8, Proverbs 3:5-6).  Pray with thanksgiving for all the ways He blesses us (Philippians 4:6). Pray when we are ill, lonely, going through trials or interceding for others (James 5:14-16, 2 Corinthians 12:9-10).  Pray to worship Him (Psalm 95:1-7, Psalm 141:1-8 ).  There is nothing we can’t pray about. There are abundant references to prayer in the Bible. The Bible tells us to “pray without ceasing” and “in everything give thanks to the Lord.” (Colossians 4:2, Romans 12:12) Jesus gave his disciples, what we call, “The Lord’s Prayer” (Matthew 6) as a model.  In addition, Hebrews 4:14-16 tells us we can pray boldly -- “That is why we have a great High Priest who has gone to heaven, Jesus the Son of God. Let us cling to him and never stop trusting him. This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced the same temptations we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it.”

Ten Commandments

We believe God wrote the ten commandments and gave it to Moses to give to the people of Israel. (Exodus 20:1-26) God wrote the ten commandments not to embitter us, but to enlighten us as to who he is, what he is like, and to the nature of our own hearts.  The Ten Commandments doesn’t start with “You shall not.” They start with, “And God spoke all these words: “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery” (Exodus 20:1).  God spoke these words audibly to a group of Israelites whom he had just rescued out of enslavement to their contemporary world-power, Egypt. The first thing he needed them to know was who he was—the title “The LORD” is actually the name Yahweh, which means “I am who I am” (Exodus 3:13-14).  God gave the law to remind the people of their own sinfulness. Did God believe the Israelites were going to keep the law? Of course not. That’s why God instituted a sacrificial system with the understanding that they would need forgiveness.  The LORD asserted his character before his commands. He’s unlike any other. He is self-defined and self-described. He introduces himself and asserts himself first—not as a lawgiver—but as a Savior.

The 10 commandments that God gave the Israelites on Mt. Sinai (Exodus 20:1-17) are the moral template for the whole world. Without them how could we know right from wrong. When Christ came he explained and reinforced by giving a few examples like: if a man is angry with his brother without a cause he is guilty of murder, Matt. 5:21-22, and if a man lusts after a woman then he is guilty of adultery, Matt. 5:27-28. He who breaks one of them is guilty of breaking them all, James 2:10. They show us the need for a Saviour, for there is nobody that lives righteously, Psalm 14:1-3, Eccl. 7:20, Rom. 3:10. The law came to reveal sin, and when sin is revealed, there is plenty of grace to cover that sin, Rom. 5:20. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, 1 John 1:9.

Heaven

We believe Heaven is a real place where born again believers, in Jesus Christ, will one day live. In fact, heaven is where God, Jesus, and the angels live. John 14:1-3 says that Jesus is in heaven preparing a place for us to live. In heaven, those saved by God will have new bodies without the curse of sin! There will be no one who is blind, deaf or lame in heaven (Isaiah 35:5, 6 and Philippians 3:21). Although Jesus builds houses in heaven, the Bible also says that those saved will also build their own houses and inhabit them as well as plant and eat from vineyards (Isaiah 65:21). Most importantly, God will be in Heaven, and He wants to be your friend. He wants to dwell with you and wipe away all your tears (Revelation 21:1-4).

We know that we will experience it with transformed bodies (1 Corinthians 15:35-57), not as disembodied spirits.  That we will in some way be like Christ (1 John 3:2-3), and in some way we will be like the angels (Matthew 22:30).  The pains of this life will be left behind (Revelation 21:4).

Believers from every nation will praise God together (Revelation 7:9).  We will be with the Lord forever (1 Thessalonians 4:17), and we will share in the glory of Christ (Rom. 8:17).  Only the people written in the book of life will be in heaven. (Revelation 3:1-6, 2 Corinthians 5:1-10) More reference of Heaven: (Revelation 21:1-27, Revelation 22:1-21, and John 14:1-4)

Hell

We believe Hell exist and it is a literal place according to the scriptures. “Hell” is the place where those who reject the Lordship of Jesus Christ will experience the wrath and justice of God, for all of eternity.

(Luke 16:19-31).  Jesus warned His disciples of the opposition they would face and added the encouragement, “Do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather, fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Hell” (Matthew 10:28).  Jesus spoke of those who would be “cast out into outer darkness” (Matthew 8:12) Warnings about HELL and what is in this place.  “Where there will be gnashing of teeth”: (Matthew 8:12; Matthew 13:41-43; Matthew 13:50; Matthew 22:13; Matthew 24:51; Matthew 25:30; and Luke 16:19-31). This unquenchable fire is also referenced in Mark 9:43 and Mark 9:48. Mark 3:28-29.  “Blazing furnace” (Matthew 13:42-50)  “Fire of hell” (Matthew 18:9)  “Eternal fire” (Matthew 18:8; Matthew 25:41) “Tormented with fire and brimstone” (Revelation 14:10) Worms won’t die (Mark 9:42-48) Hell was made for the Devil and his angels (demons). ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the Devil and his angels.’” (Matthew 25:41) “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.” (Matthew 25:46) “Scripture is quite clear that hell is indeed everlasting. Yes, Scripture speaks of hell as ‘death’ and ‘destruction’ but defines these in terms of a place where ‘they will be tormented day and night forever and ever’ (Revelation 20:10).

Those that are not written in the Book of life at the “Great White Throne Judgement” will be cast into the lake of fire forever. (Revelation 20:10-15)

Dealing with sin against a brother and, in the church,

We believe the Bible is very clear on this subject, Matthew 18:15 tells us:  Moreover, if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother.  The Matthew 18 principle tells us the first step when someone sins against you or has offended you.  We must “go and tell him his fault BETWEEN you and him alone.”  Matthew 18 is a principle especially directed to the believer in Christ. If a fellow believer injures, offends, or sins against you, then you must use the Matthew 18 principle.  Verse 15 continues that you should “go and tell him.” Don’t wait until he/she says sorry to you. There are times that people hurt each other without knowing it.  Thus, you need to take the first step to put in the effort to reach out and go to him.  What’s the next step? You must tell him of the offense or sin with kindness and respect.  (Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as Christ God forgave you.”) Sometimes, it only takes someone to point out a sin, to restore a brother. Sin can be deceiving. You could be the person who can help your brother to change by pointing out the problem.  This can be a very difficult confrontation. Some people who continually sin may be in the stage of denial. So, wisdom should be applied here.  Here is where most believers fail. The Matthew 18 principle tells us to “go and tell him his fault between you and him alone.”  The keyword here is ‘alone’.  If someone has hurt or offended you, do not go and tell every person you meet. Do not tell anyone to whom it does not concern directly!

Why is it important for you to first discuss the problem with the person concerned? The Apostle Peter wrote:  And above all things have fervent love for one another, for love will cover a multitude of sins. (I Peter 4:8).  Since we are to love our brother or sister in Christ, the very first thing you want to happen is for him to repent of his/her sins, and not to condemn or shame him/her and destroy their reputation.

Matthew 18:16 tells us,  “But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.”  Sadly, sometimes, one on one is not enough. The next step according to the scripture is to bring 2-3 witnesses to discuss the matter with your brother or sister, who has offended you.  The aim here is not to invite people to condemn your brother or sister in Christ, but to ask more help. If the person sees that more people think that he is in the wrong and more people care about him, he would be more likely to be humbled and repent.  Having two to three witnesses also gives the opportunity to review the matter and establish what needs to be done.

Matthew 18:17 tells us:

And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church.

The aim here is to let the leaders, elders, deacons, ministers, pastors, and if needed, members to examine the issue.

Matthew 18:17 continues:

But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector.

If worse comes to the worse, the sinning brother would be stopped from attending church. If necessary, members are advised not to get in touch with him, especially if that brother is causing division among the brethren.

It is worth noting that Jesus said that the sinning brother will be like a heathen and a tax collector. (Matthew 18:17) He did not say, “like the devil or damned person.” Rather, Jesus still gave the person a chance to change, like the heathens and tax collectors who also have the opportunity to repent. We must always be ready to take them back and forgive them when they choose to make things right. (Matthew 18:21-23, Matthew 6:5-15)

Faith Healing

Faith healing is healing, not by medicine, but by faith through prayer (Matthew 15:25-28.) Faith healing is an important part of every believer’s life. It has been around since time began and was especially seen in action during the time when Jesus and the apostles were on earth. People don’t have special powers (1 Corinthians 12:5-11). It is God that does the healing, not people. We believe that when someone is ill according to James 5:13-20, we are to call the elders to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. It is God’s will if we are healed or not. Sometimes God gives us grace to go through the situation until He calls us home. Just like he did with Paul. (2 Corinthians 12:5-10). Sometime when people have an illness, God can use it as a blessing to others. (John 9:1-5). Illness can also come from a sinful behavior. (Mark 2:1-10).

Speaking in tongues

Speaking in tongues is an ancient Christian practice recorded in the New Testament in which people pray or speak in a language they do not know, understand or control. We believe God can give any believer in Christ the ability to speak in any language, for His glory. (Acts 2:1-6) An Individual or group of people speaking in tongues or prophesies cannot contradict the scriptures or add to the scriptures. (Deuteronomy 18:20-22, Hebrews 6:15-19 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21, 1 John 4:1-7, Proverbs 30:5-6, Revelation 22:18-19). If someone speaks in tongues in our gatherings, he or she must have an interpreter. (1 Corinthians 14:20-40)

Membership in CH Ministries will be open to any person who has repented of his/her sin and has confessed Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and who subscribes to the statement of faith as outlined in this document.  If a person disagrees with the Statement of Faith, the individual must note the differences and the Board of Elders will review the differences.  If the Board of Elders is willing to allow membership given the noted differences, then the member must agree to neither teach those things that contradict the Statement of Faith nor cause disunity over the differences while maintaining an attitude of humility and teachability.

Section 3. Voting Privileges and Rights

Membership in this ministry shall not vest in any member any proprietary rights in the Corporation, but shall only entitle the member to vote at a meeting of the members on those matters submitted to the membership by the Board of Elders.

The purpose of discipline is to bring about a return to a biblical standard of conduct and doctrine in a member or adherent who errs (Galatians 6:1), to maintain purity in the local assembly (1 Corinthians 5:6), and to deter sin (1 Timothy 5:20).

Members and adherents who shall err in doctrine or conduct shall be subject to dismissal according to Matthew 18:15-18. However, before such dismissal, (1) it shall be the duty of any person of this ministry who has knowledge of the erring person's heresy or misconduct to lovingly warn such erring one in private, seeking his repentance and restoration. If said erring person does not heed this warning, then (2) the warning person shall again go to the erring one accompanied by one or two witnesses to warn and correct such erring person in private, seeking his repentance and restoration. If said erring one still refuses to heed this warning, then (3) it shall be brought to the attention of the Elders.

It is understood that this process will continue to conclusion whether the erring person leaves the fellowship or otherwise seeks to withdraw to avoid the discipline process.  If said person refuses to heed the warning of the Elders, (4) he/she will be publicly dismissed from attending further gatherings.

If said person, after dismissal, heeds the warning, demonstrates repentance, and requests reinstatement, he shall be publicly restored to fellowship by the Elders.

Section 9. Removal from Membership
